About PTC Creo NC Sheet Metal

Creo (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) NC Sheet metalallows NC programmers to create tool paths for turret punch presses and contouring laser/flame machines. Dynamic True Shape Auto Nesting provides the maximum sheet utilization, hence reduce scrap and material costs. This enables shorter lead times to allow manufacturers to advance from a "push" bulk production system to a "pull" order-driven system. Creo NC Sheet metal can be integrated with the company’s existing Material Resource Planning (MRP) system. The ability to input an ASCII file allows any external system to create order lists of parts that Creo can automatically retrieve and nest. Using the new expanded work cell definition, NC sequences are automatically created for all part contours on the nested sheet. The sequences created can then be posted and sent to the machine or customized by the NC programmer. The single part programming method captures all NC programmer customization only once thus allowing for repeated application to any nest in which the part is placed. All these are provided with seamless Integration with Creo; for example, DXF files can be read directly into Automation, creating Creo parts on the fly.
